What started as a project for a friend's baby has blossomed into something more fulfilling and joyful than I could have ever imagined. Using the finest linens and my own patterns, each and every rattle is made by my own hands in my little studio in Los Angeles.
It’s a labor intensive process that yields heirloom-quality pieces that can be passed down from sibling to sibling.
Ceres
Best known as the Roman goddess of harvests and motherhood, Ceres more-so represents the cycle of life.
Ovid tells us that “Ceres is content with little, provided that her offerings are casta” or pure. I think this is a beautiful connection to slow living, where we focus on having fewer but higher quality things.
Her symbols are the shaft of wheat and the red poppy, fitting emblems for a California-born-and-raised baker like me.
